Creative Encounters with Science

Creative Encounters with Science, a youth outreach initiative within the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, invites children in Grades 2–10 to join us on campus from July to August for our week-long summer STEM Camps packed with hands-on learning and fun. Campers will explore exciting topics like chemistry, engineering, game design, and more. Check out the themes for this year’s STEM camps. Led by enthusiastic instructors, Creative Encounters promises to spark curiosity and creativity in every participant. 

Who's Eligible? Grades 2 – 10

Exploring Nature Program

Our seasonal, month-long, inquiry-based Outdoor Learning Program is designed to provide children ages 4 to 8 years old with meaningful opportunities to explore and learn through nature. Through this learning program led by our Registered Early Childhood Educators and Ontario Certified Teachers, we aim to help children strengthen their connection with the natural world and foster stewardship of the environment.

Who's Eligible? Ages 4 - 8 years old

Dates: June 30 - July 25; July 28 - August 22

Outdoor Learning Program

Gryphon Activity Camps

Gryphon Camps offers a variety of camps categorized into Activity Camps or Sports Camps. Activity Camps offer general activity-level programming, in which campers are grouped based on age and skill level. Camp programs include arts and crafts, outdoor games and activities, sports, and special theme days. Programming is mostly outdoors, with designated indoor spaces in case of inclement weather.

Who's Eligible? Ages 5 - 15

Dates: July 2 - August 28

Gryphon Activity Camps

Gryphon Sport Camps

Gryphon Camps offer a variety of camps that are categorized into Activity Camps or Sport Camps. Sport Camps offer a focused approach to sport-specific skill development led by Gryphon Coaches and varsity athletes, designed to teach and facilitate growth that is age and skill level appropriate. Sport Camp weeks are limited due to facility and coaching staff availability.

Who's Eligible? Ages 5 - 18

Dates: July 7 - August 28

Gryphon Sport Camps

Own Your Future Career Camp

Own Your Future Career Camp is a two-week program for high school students, running July 14-25 and August 11-22. Led by U of G Career Educators, it helps students explore career opportunities, develop self-awareness, and build career management skills. Participants learn to improve their resume and interview skills, understand labour market trends, and create personalized action plans to navigate their future.

Who's Eligible? Grades 10, 11, 12; recent high school graduates doing a lap/gap year

Dates: July 14 - 25; August 11 - 22

Career Camp Website

Shad Canada

Shad is a prestigious experiential learning program for highly qualified Grade 10 and Grade 11 students across Canada. Students spend 4 consecutive weeks living and learning on our campus and participating in STEAM workshops, design challenges, attending lectures and making industry connections. They receive entrepreneurial training, off campus excursions and a university simulation experience.

Who's Eligible? Grades 10 & 11

Summer Science Program International

As a participant, you get to spend five weeks on the campus of a renowned research university, immersing yourself in collaborative science research in Bacterial Genomics, using professional research equipment, conducting experiments, learning from world-class scientists, making friends for life, and sharing your real-world findings.

Who's Eligible? Ages 15 - 18

Dates: July 6 - August 10

Summer Science Program International

Discover Your Future - Summer Institute

Over two weeks, participants have the chance to explore a variety of fields including, business, agriculture, veterinary science, biological sciences, arts, social sciences, engineering, and technology. Led by U of G experts, the program offers campus tours, hands-on learning, and the chance to immerse in Canadian culture while connecting with new friends. Students also enjoy social outings to iconic destinations like Niagara Falls, Toronto and nearby scenic green spaces.

Who's Eligible? Ages 15 - 17
