Information about the Bounce Back program is sent during the first week of the Winter semester to students with an academic record that makes them eligible to participate in it. It is a support program offered in the winter semester for students in the first year of their undergraduate degree. Students who opt-in to the program are matched with a student mentor who works with them one-on-one to identify the source(s) of their fall difficulties and connect them with the appropriate resources. More information is available at https://studentlife.uoguelph.ca/guidance/bounce-back-winter-semester.
Bounce Back was jointly developed by the Centre for New Students (Student Affairs) and the Undergraduate Academic Information Centre (the Office of the Associate Vice President, Academic). Its initial offering in the Winter 2007 semester was funded by an Ontario Government Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities' First Generation Grant. It is currently administered by the Student Transition and Engagement unit of the Student Experience department.
