Scholarship Information (External): Commonwealth Scholarship

The Commonwealth Scholarship Plan was established in 1960. It was designed by Commonwealth governments to enable students of high intellectual promise to pursue studies in Commonwealth countries other than their own. The goal of the program is for these students to make a distinctive contribution in their own countries upon their return, while fostering mutual understanding within the Commonwealth.

The Commonwealth Scholarship Plan is administered in Canada by the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) on behalf of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada. Please select the Commonwealth country you wish to study in to determine if the Commonwealth Scholarship Plan applies/is available for that location.
