Leadership Giving
In celebration of our 75th anniversary, we introduced the 75th Leadership Challenge Grant and we are excited to announce we will be doing it again! Turn your $1,000 donation into $2,000 and double your donation to United Way!
New Leaders: Make a donation at the leadership level ($1,000+ annually) and it will be matched dollar for dollar through the grant.
Already a Leadership Donor? If you are a leadership donor for the second time, your gift will be matched with an extra 25% this year!
Invest to improve lives and improve the community while also qualifying for great tax benefits.
Your donation of $1,000 per year or more makes you a United Way leader. It shows your commitment to improving lives and building community in Guelph & Wellington County.
Leadership giving is affordable. Like saving for a big-ticket item, small, weekly donations can really add up over time. Being a leadership donor costs just under $2.75 a day, less than many of us spend on a few coffees at our favourite java spots.
“I give because I know my dollars help those in need in my community.”
— Mark Kelland, Branch Manager, TD Canada Trust
Leadership giving stays local. Your donation to the United Way of Guelph Wellington Dufferin will support 57 local social service agencies and 95 programs. Our volunteer allocations committee visits all of the charities receiving funding to make sure your money is being put to its best use. You can also choose which social program your money will aid by specifying your charities of choice on your pledge form.
"I give to the United Way because it makes a direct difference to my community. I can see the dollars translated into action and programs that meet our community’s needs.”
— Irene Thompson, Director of Student Housing, University of Guelph
Leadership giving makes a difference. Your contribution will have a substantial impact in your own community. Just one example: your donation of $1,000 will help 7 children who have special needs go to Rainbow Inclusive Summer Day Camp, where they play, learn new skills and make life-long friends.
"Every year when the United Way campaign rolls around, I am reminded that life has been very good to me. There are so many people far less fortunate, many living right here in Guelph. The United Way provides the most impactful way to give back to my community.”
— Shawn Clifford, Vice President Commercial Services, Meridian Credit Union
Consider making an investment in your community. Consider being a United Way leader.
