University of Guelph's IQAP

Commitment to quality assurance at Guelph, including the review of programs and the development and assessment of learning outcomes, remains a faculty-driven and departmental process supported by the University's Senate.   The University of Guelph's IQAP, ratified by Senate on May 30, 2011 and by the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance on June 3, 2011, places strong emphasis on the importance of learning outcomes along with quality faculty and resources required to mount and sustain successful programs.

OCAV's Quality Assurance Framework

The Ontario Council of Academic Vice-Presidents' Quality Assurance Framework (2010), requires that all institutions implement an Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP) that is consistent with their institutional mission statements and degree level expectations. The Quality Assurance Framework also requires that each individual academic unit clearly articulate learning outcomes that are appropriate to the discipline and are consistent with the institution’'s mission, degree level expectations and aca'demic plans.

Senate Committee on Quality Assurance

The Senate Committee on Quality Assurance (CQA) is responsible for recommending to Senate for approval institutional policies and procedures related to quality assurance, and for receiving, reviewing, and presenting annually to Senate a summary report of all internal review reports produced through the institution's quality assurance processes.  Learning outcomes continue to be reviewed and addressed through the process of quality reviews.
