Reminder: Help Conserve Energy

Hydro One Inc. is asking all customers, including the University of Guelph, to help reduce power consumption to help preserve supplies during this period of extreme outside temperatures.

The University is reminding all faculty, staff and students to make a conscious effort to help cut energy use by reducing lighting and turning off all equipment when it’s not in use.

Air conditioning in buildings across campus was adjusted slightly in July to assist in energy conservation and in reducing energy consumption, and will remain as such.

Information about energy use and conservation at U of G is available online. The Ontario Ministry of Energy also has released a list of tips to reduce energy consumption.
