Campus invited to Classroom Complex construction information session

Members of the University of Guelph campus community are invited to attend a lunch-hour information session on the status of the Classroom Complex project and the start of its construction.

Organized by Physical Resources, the session will be held Tuesday, March 5, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in The Whippletree, Fourth Floor, University Centre.

The project's architects, Robbie/Young+Wright, will provide an update on the Classroom Complex. Angelo Gismondi, the Classroom Complex's project manager, will then answer questions about expected road closures and other issues arising from construction activity, including safety, noise and dust.

The 1,500-seat Classroom Complex is a key component in the University's plans to accommodate the expected surge in student enrolment caused by the "double cohort" in 2003 and a projected increase in overall university participation in the future.

The Classroom Complex's construction is expected to take 14 months, with the building ready for classes in the fall of 2003.
