Professor elected to prestigious academy

Prof. Keith Solomon, director of the Centre for Toxicology and a professor in the Department of Environmental Biology, has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences.

Solomon is only the fourth Canadian elected to the academy since it was established in 1981. The academy honours and certifies toxicologists recognized by their peers for their sound scientific judgement.

The academy particularly recognizes service to science and the public.

Solomon has been active in public education at many levels and has served on a number of national and international advisory committees on toxicology.

A graduate of Rhodes University and the University of Illinois, he joined the U of G faculty in 1978.
