Students place first at competition
University of Guelph students placed first at a recent Canadian Evaluation Society competition, edging out teams from universities across Ontario.
The students proposed recommendations for reforming military family support programs on Canadian military bases. The Canadian Evaluation Society is open to people working in the fields of planning and evaluation. This was the first time universities outside Ottawa competed.
The final round included the University of Guelph, Carleton University's School of Public Administration and the University of Ottawa's School of Psychology. The teams had five hours to plan and write a housing solution for Canadian military families.
"We beat two good schools in a very tough competition," said team member John Wall. "That speaks well for the University of Guelph and the skills we've learned here."
