Presidential Selection Committee to hold town hall meeting Sept. 13

The University community is invited to a town hall meeting Friday, Sept. 13 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Room 103 of the University Centre to provide input and advice to the Presidential Selection Committee.

Michael Walsh, chair of the Presidential Selection Committee, will introduce committee members and provide an update on the search for the University’s next president. The committee will listen to advice and input from members of the University of Guelph community on the opportunities and challenges facing the University, the characteristics and qualifications that candidates for the position of president should possess and the kinds of institutions or other sources the committee should look to for quality candidates.

The community is invited to attend any or all of the town hall meeting. The meeting is part of the committee’s consultation process. All input and feedback received, whether orally or in writing, will help the Presidential Selection Committee to further prepare a position profile. This profile will be used as an aid in recruiting and to provide guidance in the assessment of candidates.

The term of the new president will begin Sept. 1, 2003.
