New assistant vice-president (development) appointed

U of G’s Department of Alumni Affairs and Development has appointed Pamela Healey assistant vice-president, (development).

Healey is currently the director of development and alumni relations at Wilfrid Laurier University. She worked at U of G for 10 years in the 1980s and early 1990s, holding various positions, including director of development, manager of advancement research, and assistant to the director of external relations. She holds a master’s degree in business from WLU and a BA from Guelph.

“We are excited to have a person of such high calibre joining our team,” said Rob McLaughlin, vice-president (alumni affairs and development). “Pam brings with her years of experience and a bold strategic vision for our future fundraising efforts and the refinement of our current capital campaign. We are delighted to welcome her back home.”

Healey is the University’s first assistant vice-president (development). She will be second-in-command in Alumni Affairs and Development, with division-wide responsibilities, including providing leadership and strategic planning to meet future fundraising challenges, motivating and educating key constituents of the University community, and fostering relationships.

“I am really pleased to be coming back to Guelph,” Healey said. “I am confident that the learning and experience I gained during my years away will enhance the contribution I can now make at U of G. One of the things that makes me so excited about coming back is how well Guelph is doing, all of the positive things that I’ve been hearing about Guelph since I left. It is a wonderful success story, and I am looking forward very much to returning to the campus community and to working with others to ensure the University’s future success.”
