U of G offering assistance on issues surrounding Alberta BSE case
The University of Guelph is working with the government, industry and other universities in offering assistance to deal with the discovery of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) in an Alberta beef cow.
The Ontario Veterinary College, the Animal Health Laboratory, the Canadian Research Institute of Food Safety, and the national Food Safety Network at the University all provide guidance and services in the areas of animal health, diagnostic testing, and food safety.
Within Ontario, OMAF has formed a working team to address all issues associated with BSE. For questions regarding Ontario's response to this incident, call 1-888-466-2372, or visit the OMAF web site.
