Website Focuses on U of G's Campus Sustainability

Physical Resources will launch a specialized website focusing on campus sustainability at the University, March 11 at 2:30 p.m. at the Bullring. Free coffee and refreshments will be provided and those attending will have a chance to participate in an energy logo design contest for energy awareness efforts on campus.

Spearheaded by Gillian Maurice, U of G’s sustainability co-ordinator, the website provides useful information about recycling, composting, energy use and waste reduction designed to protect the environment and help the campus reduce overall emissions in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol. It includes links to download pamphlets and sorting guides and frequently asked questions.

“The website provides an all-in-one resource on the environmental services the university provides,” says Maurice. In addition to recycling and energy information, it boasts an all-new “Online Stuff Swap” where students, staff and faculty can post or browse listings of shareable items.
