2011-2012 B.Sc.(Agr.)

Please Read Carefully!

Once a Schedule of Studies is published, the University does not go back and “fix it” when courses are deleted or changed. To help you keep track of what you need to graduate, changes to your Schedule of Studies are listed below. Some students find it useful to review these changes with a copy of their Program/Academic Evaluation in front of them. This way you can mark off what you have completed and what you still need to complete. Please note that more often than not, substitutions won’t show up on your Program/Academic Evaluation. If you find errors on your Program/Academic Evaluation, or if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your Program Counsellor.

Changes are listed for all majors as well as a list of changes relevant for all majors:

Changes for All Majors:

AGR 1100 was last offered in Fall 2011. If you still require it, please contact your Program Counsellor.

AGR 1250 was last offered in Winter 2012. If you still require it, please contact your Program Counsellor.

AGR 2400 last offered in Fall 2012. If you will still require it, please contact your Program Counsellor.

In Fall 2012, most NRS, GEOL, MET, SOIL and ENVS courses changed to the prefix "ENVS". Some courses will change numbers, but not all. If applicable, changes to core courses are noted below.

Changes for Animal Science:

ANSC 3210 will last be offered Winter 2014. You may not take ANSC 1210 as a substitution for this requirement.

MBG 3090 will be offered via distance education only starting Fall 2012. If you don't want to take a DE course as one of your required courses, you can talk to your Program Counsellor about taking MBG 4030 instead. But you must talk to your Program Counsellor about it first (and as an FYI, MBG 4030's name will change to "Animal Breeding Methods and Applications"). You will not be allowed to double count MBG 4030 as a restricted elective and as a required course. UPDATE: MBG 3090 will not be offered Fall 2013. You must take MBG 3060 as a substitution for this course. Please note that MBG 3060 is a Winter only course. Since MBG 3060 is listed as a restricted elective, your requirement for the Animal Breeding restricted electives has changed from needing 1.00 to needing 0.50. This means from the Animal Breeding list, you need MBG 3060 and one other course from that list (ANSC 4020, ANSC 4050 or MBG 4030). Students interested in taking ANSC 4230 may still take it despite not having MGB 3090; this prerequisite will not be required despite its listing in the Undergraduate Calendar.

POPM 4230 is now offered every year (not just even numbered years).

Changes for Crop Horticulture and Turfgrass Sciences:

CROP 2110 is no longer offered. You may take AGR 2050: Agroecology as a substitution for this requirement (or you can take BOT 3050; the other choice in your Schedule of Studies). If you take AGR 2050 for this requirement, you must email your Program Counsellor this information so it can be recorded in your file.
