AGR 2470 has opened a new lab section. If you still need to add this course to your schedule for the fall (or need to change sections) you can do so during the In Course Students Course Selection period (June 2nd - June 6th). MBG 2400 is still looking to swap rooms with a first year course that may not fill to capacity, so they are still waiting for the incoming students to select their courses first to know what class they can switch rooms with. This means I still anticipate that they will likely not open spots on WebAdvisor during this Course Selection period.
I just wanted to give a bit of insight into how first year courses are monitored by departments and how it conflicts with the time of day when many of you are selecting courses. Most of us leave work before 5:00pm; just when course selection is really getting started by students as you get home from school or work. This may sometimes mean that spaces fill up overnight when students are selecting and staff are not monitoring spaces in courses. In the morning, staff will review the overnight course selection and at that point, will open more spaces if they are able to.
Please note that the last day for in course students (everyone except the incoming first year students) to add Summer and Fall courses is Friday, May 16th.
Fall courses can be added during the next course selection period for in course students, June 2nd - June 6th.
Incoming first year students can continue to select courses until Wednesday, July 2nd.
Many of you have asked if 10 minutes is enough time to get from one classroom to another. I assure you, I am a slow walker and yes, 10 minutes is enough time to get from one class to another!
Yes, students entering their first semester in the fall will only be taking four courses!
For the B.Sc.(Agr.) degree program students are required to take a course worth 1.00 credits (you will see in the Registration Handbook that AGR*1110 is highlighted as that course). This course, in addition to the other three courses each worth 0.50 credits, will give you a total of 2.50 credits which gives you full-time registration (noted in the first paragraph of the Registration Handbook).
MATH 1080 has opened a lot of new spaces after being closed overnight. Thanks for your patience as the department reviewed their enrollment numbers.
Welcome new students! Congratulations on your decision to join the University of Guelph family.
Any important news about course selection will be posted on this website, so please check back if you have a question to see if it is addressed here. If not, please contact Melinda Vanryn (email@example.com) with your questions.
I have been in touch with the departments that offer AGR 2470 and MBG 2400 to find out their next steps to find more spaces in these classes. AGR 2470 should have spots open up on WebAdvisor in the next few days, so please watch for those to open on WebAdvisor. MBG 2400 is looking to swap rooms with a first year course that may not fill to capacity, but they need to wait for the incoming students to select their courses first to know what class they can switch rooms with. This means they will likely not open spots on WebAdvisor during this Add Period.
For the summer semester, our office doors will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00am-3:00pm. Appointments outside of these times can be made if they are arranged in advance by calling the office during our open door hours (ext. 54800). These hours will begin the week of May 12th. Please note that our office has limited staff this summer so there may be times when the office is closed during our posted open hours. Please check the announcements for up to date information about hours or call the office at extension 54800 to check current availability.
