U of G Lift Trucks

Lift Trucks

All powered lift trucks at U of G workplace, including electric motor hand trucks, stand- on or rider electric or propane lift trucks and rough terrain lift trucks require the certification of all operators.

  • New operators attend certification training and update their certification every 3 years.
  • New and experienced operators also complete a practical skills review every 18 months - at time of certification and as a minimum, again at 18 months.

Training

Training courses for new and experienced operators are arranged through EHS, using a third-party provider. Course offerings are posted on the EHS Registration Site [1] or contact ehs@uoguelph.ca [2]

Departments

Supervisors in charge of lift trucks and lift truck operators need to complete the Departmental Lift Truck Safety Procedure Form [3] for each powered lift truck and provide a current copy of the form to EHS.

The U of G Lift Truck Program [4] is accessible to users through their University of Guelph login.
