In this introduction to neuro-inclusion, employees will learn how to recognize and support neuro-inclusive practices in their everyday work so that they and/or their neurodivergent colleagues - including those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other cognitive differences - can participate on equal footing with their neurotypical peers.
Employees will learn about everyday best practices for neuro-inclusion, including plain-language communication, structured content creation, and participatory goal setting. They will also learn about their human rights related to workplace accommodations that can help them thrive at work. This knowledge can also help them support colleagues who need accommodations. Ultimately, this workshop will help participants become allies for neuro-inclusion on campus.
By the end of this workshop, employees will be able to:
- Explain what neurodivergence is and recognize that everyone's abilities and needs change over time
- Apply practical strategies that make daily work more neuro-inclusive
- Recognize and respectfully support accommodation requests from colleagues, and know how to ask for their own if needed
