September 4, 2024 - Unifor Negotiations

The Collective Agreement for Unifor Local 2003E, the Union representing the University's ten Operating Engineers and those engaged as their helpers in the Central Utilities Plant, expired on April 30, 2024. The University and the Union are actively engaged in bargaining, and a further update will be provide once an agreement is reached.

July 8, 2024 - UGFSEA Units 1 and 2, Ratify Renewal Collective Agreements

Members of the University of Guelph Food Service Employees Association (UGFSEA) Units 1 and 2 have ratified the renewal collective agreements that were tentatively agreed to on June 18, 2024 and June 20, 2024 respectively.

Duing one day of negotiations for each Unit, talks were open, respectful and constructive. At the time of ratification, UGFSEA Unit 1 represents 137 regular full-time and limited full-time food service workers, while UGFSEA Unit 2 represents 211 part-time food service workers.
