An opinion piece by Professor Sylvain Charlebois, Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies in the College of Management and Economics, is featured in the Globe and Mail.

The column [1]discusses the government’s recent and controversial decision to end the Canadian Wheat Board monopoly on western wheat and barley, and Canadian supply management

Prof. Charlebois is an award-winning researcher and teacher, and an expert on global food systems. He studies food distribution and safety and has published two books and numerous articles. He is currently writing a third book on global food safety systems.

This summer he was named to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s National Expert Advisory Committee. The group will provide the CFIA with objective professional and technical advice on key issues related to food, animal health and plants.
