Survey Takes Pulse of Guelph Business

Submitted by coverlan on November 2nd, 2012 12:11 PM

November 2 - "Article from the Guelph Tribune" City hall and the University of Guelph will conduct a survey of local businesses starting this Monday, with the data to be used in creating new initiatives to boost local prosperity. Graduate students from the U of G’s College of Management and Economics will carry out the local business engagement survey from Nov. 5- 30. Survey interviews, conducted over the phone or in person, should take about 30 minutes to complete, a city hall news release said. “I encourage key employers to have your thoughts and ideas heard,” Guelph Chamber of Commerce president and CAO Lloyd Longfield said in the release. “The feedback generated from this survey will help to create an integrated and comprehensive program that best fits the needs of local firms.” “This survey will lead to the development of a successful program dedicated to supporting the prosperity of local businesses,” Mayor Karen Farbridge said in the release. “We want to actively seek out opportunities for two-way communication in order to make our city more adaptable and attractive for business,” she said. Local business leaders who would like to participate in the survey can contact Barbara Maly [1] at 519-837-5600, ext. 2822. They can also visit guelph.ca/biz to have their voice heard. All results will be reported in aggregate and no individual business responses will be identified, the release said.
