Ontarion celebrates anniversary during homecoming weekend

The Ontarion student newspaper at the University of Guelph will celebrate its 50th anniversary year with an open house and reception Sept. 29.

The open house will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the newspaper offices, second floor of the University Centre Building. A wine and cheese reception will follow from 7 to 10 p.m. in the 5th-floor Graduate Students' Lounge. Interested members of the Guelph community and past Ontarion staff members are invited to attend.

The Ontarion was first published on March 29, 1951, and is still one of the few completely autonomous student newspapers in the country. For more information on its history and position on campus, visit the Ontarion website or contact editor Chris Lutz at, 519-824-4120, Ext. 8250.
