Inaugural electronic MBA-Agriculture class to graduate

Fall convocation at the University of Guelph will bring together the inaugural class of the electronic MBA in agriculture program, a joint partnership between Guelph and Athabasca University.

It is the only such MBA program in Canada delivered electronically. Most of the students have met only once during the 30-month program.

Nearly all of the 25 graduates will attend a convocation ceremony Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. in War Memorial Hall. A special reception for the class will be held at 3:30 p.m. the same day at the Arboretum.

"We have people coming in from the United States and from every province in Canada," said MBA program manager Petra Schennach.

"The students know each other extremely well and are very close," Schennach said. "They just communicate through a different delivery method."
