Big turnout expected for U of G's Campus Days

The University of Guelph expects to welcome up to 6,000 prospective students and family members to Campus Days March 12 to 14. That's a significant increase over last year's turnout, largely due to increased interest from the applicants associated with the double cohort, said Laura Beattie, assistant registrar (student recruitment).

Campus Days activities will include a student panel, academic information sessions, resource displays and campus walking tours. Hundreds of U of G faculty, staff and student volunteers will be on hand to talk about all facets of university life, ranging from academic programs to campus services and organizations.

Students who have applied to or are interested in the bachelor of arts, commerce, applied science or landscape architecture programs are invited to attend on March 12. Students who have applied to or are interested in the bachelor of computing, science, agricultural science, technology, engineering, environmental sciences, arts and science or the associate diploma in turfgrass management programs are invited to attend on March 13.

The program begins at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is a "tours only" day, with tours leaving at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. from the W. R. Mitchell Athletic Centre. All events will be held in the athletic centre and are free and open to the public. Visitor parking will be available in parking lots P14 and P15.
