The PhD in Geography at the University of Guelph provides opportunities for scholarly inquiry in socio-economic spaces and change, environmental governance and management, and biophysical systems and processes. The program examines the critical relationships between human and environmental systems and supports the development of innovative research that addresses challenges at local, regional and global scales.
Working closely with faculty researchers, doctoral students investigate topics ranging from climate change and conservation to food systems, hydrology, geomatics and social-environmental justice. The program encourages the integration of diverse perspectives and methodologies, enabling students to make meaningful contributions to both scholarship and practice.
