49-468 The U.S. in the Era of Urbanization - 1870-1920 (1-2). (H)

This course will examine social and intellectual developments in the United States with emphasis placed on the period between the Civil War and World War I. An important area of study will be the nature and consequences of urban development. Stress is laid on the reading of primary sources.

Prerequisites: 49-265.
