Qualifications: Student from Grey County entering semester 1 of the DVM program with the highest average in the courses attempted after admission to the Preveterinary Year. Preference will be given to a student who has some experience in large animal practice. |

Family and friends of Elaine Harris, who in her short lifetime demonstrated exemplary care and love for all animals, have established a memorial scholarship. |

The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) donates this award in memory of Dr. Frank J. Milne, an OVC faculty member from 1953-1984. Dr. Milne was President of the AAEP in 1971, and Editor of the annual convention Proceedings Book from 1960-1988. |
Qualifications: Student who has completed semester 6 of the DVM program with the highest grade in course 93-445 Equine Medicine and Surgery. Preference will be given to the student who demonstrated an interest in equine practice. |

Qualifications: The recipient will be selected on the basis of the evaluation of performance by the elective host and on the manner in which the Ontario Veterinary College and the profession were represented. The case report will be judged on the basis of scientific content, relevance to the field of laboratory animal medicine and quality of the manuscript. The case report must follow the format for publication in the Canadian Veterinary Journal. |

Three continuing awards have been established by Mrs. Elaine Laurin, because of her compassion for animals, her long standing interest in veterinary medicine and her desire to help talented but financially constrained veterinary students. Qualifications: Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic performance and demonstrated financial need. The three recipients chosen in 1995 will continue to receive awards each year through to completion of the DVM program, provided they have achieved, on entry to DVM years 1, 2, 3 and 4 averages of at least 80% and demonstrate continued need of substancial financial assistance. |
Amount: Three continuing awards of $5,000 per annum for students who have been admitted to the pre-veterinary year and who continue through to completion of the 4-year DVM program. |

The application must include a letter of reference from at least one instructor, a letter of intent, a resume and a letter indicating that satisfactory arrangements for the program have been made. The recipient must have high academic standing, leadership, integrity, a pleasing personality and good communication skills. |

Qualifications: Undergraduate student who has completed semester 6 of the DVM program with the highest grade in course 93-414 Health Management for Swine. The recipient's participation in college and other extracurricular activities will also be considered. |

Royal Canadian Army Veterinary Corps Prize |
Applicants must submit a plan for the work/study visit and a letter from the host by April 1. Selection will be based on the merit of the proposal and academic performance. |
Qualifications: Student who has completed semester 4 of the veterinary program and is planning a work/study visit to an equine facility during the summer between 2nd and 3rd year. In keeping with the original terms of the award, the care and welfare of horses should be a significant component of the proposal. |
