V--International Study


National/International Study--O.A.C.

Students are encouraged to participate in national and international study opportunities at other faculties of agricultural science in Canada and in selected countries around the world. Students may study at another university on a letter of permission basis for one or more semesters and use the resulting academic credits towards their degree from the University of Guelph.

The agrifood industry is increasingly dependent on national and international policies, developments, and markets. Graduates with broad perspectives, and a global understanding of the agrifood system are able to undertake a larger range of professional employment opportunities.

Other faculties of agricultural science in Canada with transfer possibilities for University of Guelph students include:

International study opportunities can be arranged at selected faculties on an individual basis in the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Germany, New Zealand, Russia, Mexico and Australia. A semester abroad program is being established in Costa Rica for University of Guelph students together with students from other faculties of agricultural science in Canada. This program will be available in the fall semester and normally scheduled in the third year.

Students interested in national and international study opportunities should consult the OAC Dean's Office. Financial assistance with travel costs is available from the Varley and Lyon Exchange Scholarships for domestic study programs, and from Robb Travel Bursaries for international study, as listed in the scholarship section of this calendar.
