Department of English, College of Arts
The Department of English offers courses, especially at the 100 and 200 level, suitable for non-specialized students as well as for those in English programs. Any student in English or majoring in another field who is in doubt about being well prepared for a particular course at any level should consult with either the instructor or an advisor in the department. Students should note that certain courses in Drama (35-) and in Literature in Translation (24-, 47-, 55-, 88-) may be counted towards a degree in English. The M.A. program in English at Guelph gives preference to qualified applicants with a broad experience in literary and cultural studies and related disciplines.
The program of study and requirements are the same as for the area of concentration in the general program.
