Delivered in collaboration with Canada's Department of National Defence, the Mitacs Accelerate Defence and Security Call supports collaborative academic–industry research projects that advance Canadian sovereign capabilities in strategic areas identified under Canada's Defence Industrial Strategy. Through this competitive funding opportunity, Mitacs will support applied research and talent development in priority areas including aerospace, digital systems, quantum technologies, sensors, space, advanced manufacturing and other defence and security related fields. Applications are open from June 1 to August 17, 2026.
