The School of Engineering at the University of Guelph invites application for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with a breadth of expertise in Mechanical Engineering. Successful candidates will have demonstrated research abilities in the Advanced Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Systems.
The candidate will play a key role in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Candidates in all related fields of manufacturing processes and systems are encouraged to apply but special consideration will be given to applicants with strengths in Advanced Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Systems and closely related topics.
The candidate must have an undergraduate degree and PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Qualified applicants for this position will be expected to teach and develop courses that support the undergraduate and graduate programs with an emphasis on courses related to manufacturing process, manufacturing systems, as well as core mechanical engineering courses.
The candidate is also expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized, externally funded research program, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and provide service to the University and the engineering profession. The School has a particular strength and emphasis in design. Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario is a requirement of this position at the time of hiring. The University of Guelph has well-established and accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Systems and Computing, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Water Resources Engineering. At present the School is comprised of over 61 faculty members, 33 staff and technicians, 1,750 undergraduate students and 300 graduate students.
