Prof. David Sparling, associate dean, research and graduate studies for the College of Management and Economics, was featured on CBC News Morning today talking about rising food prices, what the global food shortage means to Canadians and how it progressed to this point. He was interviewed by business reporter Danielle Bochove.

Prof. Barry Smit appeared on CBC Newsworld Monday discussing the topic of rising food costs and Canada's international role. The geography professor has expertise in the vulnerability and adaptations of communities and socio-economic systems to global environmental changes, especially climate change. His research has also addressed the sustainability of agriculture and agroecosystem health, and the implications of changing conditions for resources and livelihoods

Sparling and Prof. Alfons Weersink, Department of Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics, were also featured in a Toronto Star article today on rising food prices. Weersink also wrote an op-ed on the subject that was published in today's Guelph Mercury.
