- About: IBM SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) Statistics is a statistical software package which allows for data management and analysis. It can perform a variety of data analysis and presentation functions, including statistical analyses and graphical presentation of data such as plots, frequencies, charts, and lists. - Current Version: SPSS Statistics Premium 27
- Availability: The CCS Software Distribution Site [2] currently offers the two most recent versions of IBM SPSS Statistics (26 and 27) under the Institutional Use Only Software section. SPSS Statistics is available for use on campus and is installed on all computers in the Learning Commons computer lab (McLaughlin Library) and various computer labs on campus. IBM SPSS SamplePower 3.0 and IBM SPSS Visualization Designer 1.0.3 are available by request through the CCS Help Centre (IThelp@uoguelph.ca or 519-824-4120 x58888).
- Eligibility: Undergraduate and Graduate Students, Staff and Faculty are eligible to acquire SPSS Statistics for free under our current campus licensing agreement. This software may be installed on both personal and work computers, however, it may only be used while you are employed by, or a registered student at, the University of Guelph.
- Supported Platforms: IBM SPSS Statistics is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. The CCS Software Distribution site [2] currently offers versions for Windows (32/64-bit) and Mac. Please consult the full list of SPSS System Requirements [3] prior to installing SPSS software.
- License Information: When a user orders SPSS Statistics from the CCS Software Distribution site, they are provided with an alphanumeric authorization code. This code is used to license SPSS Statistics using the license authorization wizard.
- University of Guelph SPSS Statistics licenses expire annually on August 31st. In order to continue using SPSS Statistics software after the license expires, users must place a new order for SPSS Statistics from the CCS Software Distribution site [2] to receive the new authorization code. This code is then used to renew the license [4] for SPSS Statistics.
Installation
- Prior to installing SPSS Statistics, please verify that your computer meets the system requirements [5], which can be found on the IBM website [5].
- When installing SPSS Statistics, please ensure that you select the option for "Authorized User" and not "Concurrent".
