Young Hotelier Summit (YHS) 2015

Submitted by lfodor on September 25th, 2014 1:10 PM

YHS Winners - 2014The University of Guelph was once again the only Canadian school invited to Lausanne for the Young Hotelier Summit 2015!

If you are interested in applying for this prestigious case study competition, please be aware of the following:

1. Young Hotelier Summit is a competition in Lausanne, Switzerland for hotel-focused students at the world's most-established hospitality universities. Students who apply must have hotel work experience and passed HTM*3060 by January 2015 (students currently enrolled in HTM*3060 are encouraged to apply).

2. The application process requires you to email your resume and a one-page answer to the following question: "Why should you be chosen to represent Guelph's School of HFTM at this hotel conference?" to Prof. Justin Taillon (taillon@uoguelph.ca [1]) no later than 11:59pm on October 3rd.

3. There are two steps in student selection. First, you will be assessed on your resume and one-page answer by professors in the School. Secondly, you will be asked to make a presentation to the School; the presentation will mirror the rules you will follow during the case study competition if selected for YHS.

4. The competition will take place March 16-20, 2015, if you are chosen to represent the University of Guelph. Funding is covered for participants to travel to Switzerland.

There will be a meeting for all students interested in applying for YHS. Date, time, and location information for the meeting will be posted soon.
