HFTM Students Host Successful HTCC Event

HFTM U of G Team

This past weekend the School of Hospitality, Food & Tourism Management (U of G) hosted the 2016 Hospitality and Tourism Case Competition (HTCC). The support received from participating sponsors, industry representatives, panelists, judges, faculty and staff, were exceptional and made this event possible.

Congratulations to delegates who participated in the conference from Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management [1], ESG UQAM | École des sciences de la gestion [2], and Guelph School of Hospitality, Food & Tourism Management [3].

The winner of the Hospitality Case, provided by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. [4], were Nicolas Valois, Véronique St-Pierre, and Fredrick-Anthony Ghali -UQAM. The first runner-ups were Nicole Chan, Aaron Laurie, and Brittany Ho - HFTM, U of G.. The second runner-ups were Samir Dewji, Christian Cross and Karen Lam - HFTM, U of G.

The winner of the Tourism Case, provided by Parks Canada [5], were Catherine Gagné-Vaillancourt, Camille Deteix and Léa Trépanier Montpetit - UQAM. The first runner-ups were Solène April, Myriam Corbeil, and Maude-Émilie Cyr - UQAM. The second runner-ups were Christina Tennyson, You Jia Lee and Yu Hang Tan - HFTM, U of G.

Thank you again to FRHI Hotels & Resorts [6] and College of Business and Economics Students' Association [7] for their generous support. Lastly, thank you to Lauren Chan, Alana Hendry and volunteers for their time and efforts in organizing the conference.
