Hearing Loss Prevention Program Training

This is a basic training session on noise hazards in the workplace and the University's Hearing Loss Prevention Program [1]. Participants will gain an understanding of the following topics:

  • Definition of noise
  • Health effects of exposures to hazardous noise levels
  • Regulatory requirements under O. Reg. 381/15
  • Noise hazard assessments
  • Noise controls
  • Use, care and fitting of hearing protection devices
  • Audiometric testing; and
  • Roles and responsibilities under the University's Noise Control and Hearing Conservation Program

The course also includes hands-on training on proper fitting of foam ear plugs.

Target Audience: Employees who work in noise hazard areas and are required to wear hearing protection devices.
