U of G Senior Leaders in France to expand European Research Partnerships
In September 2024 senior leaders from the University of Guelph, Dr. Rene Van Acker (Interim President) and Dr. Stuart McCook (Assistant Vice-President International) travelled to France to promote U of G’s European research initiatives.
During their visit, they attended the Universities Canada Research Collaboration event, which explored partnership opportunities under the Horizon Europe research program. They also represented U of G at the European Association for International Education (EAIE) conference in Toulouse, where they engaged with current and new partner institutions.
A highlight of the trip was the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne, to support emerging research collaborations between the universities. This agreement sets the stage for strengthening our relationships with French universities.
