Classical Languages

Department of Languages and Literatures, College of Arts.

The Classical Languages program imparts an advanced knowledge of Greek and Latin and is designed for students who have a special interest in literature and philosophy or plan to do postgraduate study in any area of Classics.

Classical Languages Core Requirements

48-110, 48-111, 48-202, 61-110, 61-111, 61-200

Honours Program Major

A minimum of 18 courses is required, including:

  1. Classical Languages core
  2. Any 5 courses from 24-2301:2, 24-3001:2, 24-3011:2, 24-3021:2, 24-3031:2, 24-3041:2, 24-3101:2, 24-4001:2
  3. 61-410, 61-415

Honours Program Minor

A minimum of 12 courses is required, including:

  1. Classical Languages core
  2. Any 3 courses from those listed under Item (b) above
