Alzheimer’s Association Research Fellowship for All (AARFA) Program
Description
The AARFA program is designed to support postdoctoral researchers working in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD). It aims to help early-career scientists transition toward independent research careers under the guidance of a mentoring investigator.
Eligibility
- Must hold a doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, MD, or equivalent).
- Must be within 10 years of receiving their terminal degree at the time of Letter of Intent (LOI) submission.
- Must not hold an independent faculty position (e.g., Assistant Professor or equivalent) at the time of award.
- Must be actively engaged in Alzheimer’s or dementia-related research.
- Must be working under the mentorship of an established investigator.
- Must hold a full-time position at a not-for-profit academic, medical, or research institution.
- International applicants, including those from Canada, are eligible.
Funding Availability
Total Award: Up to $200,000 USD over 2–3 years. There is an annual cap of $70,000 USD per year.

- Create an account or log in.
- Select the AARFA program and begin the application process.
Submit a Letter of Intent (LOI)
- Required to initiate the application.
- Includes applicant details, project summary, scientific rationale, and budget estimate.
- Only applicants whose LOIs are approved will be invited to submit a full application.
