Description

It is anticipated that a Genome Canada Large Scale Applied Research Project (LSARP) competition is to be launched in early 2017. The focus of this funding opportunity will be precision medicine. While the competition objectives, principles and selection and evaluation criteria are still being finalized, Ontario Genomics want to alert you to this pending competition so that potential applicants can begin to prepare.

In advance of the launch of this competition, Ontario Genomics would like to meet with researchers whose potential projects would fit the call. Early contact will enable project teams to prepare highly competitive applications for this rigorous application process, including early identification of collaborators and end users and to source co-funding. Over the next few months Ontario Genomics will be available to institutions and teams to help guide the development of strong projects.

Funding Availability

Based on past LSARP competitions, projects will likely need to include end users as part of the project teams, be multi-disciplinary (science and social science/humanities), and have a total four-year budget between $2M-$10M. Co-funding will be required and project deliverables will need to lead to social and/or economic benefits to Canada.

Project Duration

Four years
