CCAC Publishes New Guidelines on Mice

The Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) document CCAC guidelines: Mice is now available. Along with frequently asked questions it provides a framework for current best practices with the aim of improving mouse welfare.

The document provides information for investigators, study directors, animal care committees, facility managers, veterinarians, and animal care staff to improve in both the care given to mice and the manner in which experimental procedures are performed. It is based on expert peer advice and current interpretation of scientific evidence, and has received extensive peer review.
