Collaborative Research Opportunity - LAMP based molecular diagnostics

The Catalyst Centre recently received an enquiry from a Toronto based company that develops and markets immunodiagnostic technologies and biological reagents for sale in Canada, the United States, and Europe.

The company has partnered with a leading supplier of molecular diagnostic solutions to distribute a portable point-of-use device that enables sensitive detection of various organisms at a molecular level. The device, which makes use of Loop mediated isothermal amplification, or LAMP, technology, has the potential to offer a low cost solution for the detection of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other pests posing a threat to the agricultural sector.

The company is interested in working with researchers at the University of Guelph on projects that will demonstrate the efficacy of this technology in new applications.

If you are looking for ways to enhance your research program and/or get fast results to meet diagnostic challenges and would like to speak with the company, please contact Gregor Lawson (lawsong@uoguelph.ca).
