Chris Loken, CTO, Compute Ontario will moderate the workshop panel. |
Description
Compute Ontario, in collaboration with ICES and MaRS Discovery District (MaRSDD), will be delivering three educational workshops on data trusts and their implications with respect to data access, data sharing and data governance as it applies to support the concept of smart cities in Ontario. With workshops in Toronto on November 21, in Guelph on November 28, and in Ottawa on December 4, Compute Ontario seeks to further build on the recommendations from the CO-ORION led Smart Cities initiative earlier this year. Insights gathered from these workshops will be included in a report that furthers the conversation on the spectrum of data trusts and data governance models that would support the advancement of smart cities.
The workshops are open to individuals from government, academia, private and public sectors who are interested in furthering their understanding of data trusts and data governance within Ontario. The sessions and panels will also cover the key elements of effective data governance and will address the legal and technological challenges and opportunities.
