It’s been just over three months since we launched EthOS! The Research Ethics office continues to manage dual processes as we transition away from the former (legacy) MS Word application forms to our new online system. Thank you to everyone for your support and patience to date.
Form Update
On November 11, some minor enhancements will be pushed to EthOS to improve the user experience. The list of updates includes a new Co-Investigator permission role, updated FAQ and help menu text, additional built-in guidance, and a handful of configuration changes to improve functionality or workflow. The issue affecting the study closure subform of legacy protocols has been addressed. Any researchers waiting to close their legacy studies can now proceed; consult the training material on creating a closure subform if needed.
The updates will not impact your saved work or require you to resubmit your application.
However, please be advised that:
-
Owners and collaborators will see an update message when they next access an updated form
-
A red message requires you to update before proceeding
-
A yellow message permits an update at a later date (although it’s strongly encouraged that you update as soon as possible)
-
Only the form owner can apply the update
-
If your form has a signature request pending, you will need to re-request the signature after updating (signed forms are not impacted)
Please review the Form Update Messages training material for complete guidance on applying the update.
