Updated Information

The deployment of the new EthOS User Interface (UI) was completed successfully. All users are reminded to complete the mandatory Form Update step the next time you log-in to EthOS.

This is a cosmetic update only with no impact to existing applications or approval workflows.

Training materials with the new screenshots have been updated on the EthOS Hub, and include a short video tour of the new UI for applicants and REB Members.

EthOS is the U of G / UofGH system used for the online submission, review, and approval of Research Ethics Board (REB) applications involving human participants.

The EthOS software provider, Infonetica, is introducing an updated user interface (UI) that offers a cleaner, more modern look and improved navigation. This update is purely a visual and navigational change—there are no changes to form content or workflows. Protocol submissions, reviews and approvals will continue as usual.

Although this new UI was originally anticipated earlier this year, the launch was deferred to better align with local readiness. The updated interface will now be deployed on May 21, 2026.

What to Expect

  • Look and feel update only: all EthOS workflows and steps remain the same

  • No impact to submissions or reviews in progress

  • As with all form updates, users will be prompted to complete the mandatory Form Update step after the new UI goes live

While EthOS Hub guidance and training materials are being updated to reflect the new interface, applicants interested in a preview can explore these short demonstrations provided by Infonetica:
