Famae Research Award




Within the framework of the 1,000,000€ Famae Innovation Challenge, the Famae Research Award is granted in recognition of a researcher or academic whose applied research, innovative approaches or insights have or are expected to have a significant impact on waste reduction and waste recycling.  Specifications include:

  1. Waste reduction or waste recycling, whatever the type of waste, including eco-design and sustainable alternatives to common materials that end up in landfills (plastics, etc.)
  2. Applied research with sufficient evidence of a current or future substantial impact on the reduction or recycling of the related type of waste
  3. The grant (min 50,000€) will cover R&D-related costs such as prototyping, blue print, IP protection, wages


The award is intended for doctoral students, post-docs or confirmed researchers from the private or public sector

  1. Name
  2. University, Laboratory or Company information
  3. Application in pdf form: brief CV, main scientific results, list of main publications, short presentation detailing how your work can or could significantly contribute to reduce or better recycle a certain type of waste
