Description

Lab2Market Validate allows researchers to test and evaluate the market potential of their innovations critically. This carefully curated 16-week experience (10 weeks full-time) is complemented by funding, exercises, workshops and mentorship from industry experts – all with exploration at its core. 

Participants in the program receive:

Lab2Market has been operating since 2019 and is a Canadian adaptation of the successful NSF I-Crops program in the United States and ICURe program in the United Kingdom. 

It is highly recommended that those interested in applying for Validate complete Validate Foundations.

Eligibility

University researchers (Master's, PhD, Postdoc, Recent Graduates) or students from colleges/polytechnics in Canada, developing ocean-related technologies, who are looking to test and evaluate their idea in the entrepreneurial landscape critically. The Ocean Startup Project will deliver this program in partnership with Memorial University.

Project Duration

10 weeks full-time (January 11 - March 25, 2027)
