Description

The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport, marked an important step in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in the post-secondary sector yesterday. Minister Duncan presented the final text of the charter that will anchor the Made-in-Canada Athena SWAN program.

The charter reflects extensive consultations that took place over several months across the country. Minister Duncan also unveiled the name of the Canadian program, which will be: Dimensions: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Canada. She also announced the EDI Institutional Capacity-Building Grants recipients.

Dimensions takes a multidimensional approach to equity, diversity and inclusion to achieve a future research community where all can thrive. The Tri-Agencies encourages all post-secondary institutions to endorse the charter as soon as today.

Institutions wishing to attain greater recognition for their EDI will be invited to participate in the pilot Dimensions awards program, by submitting a Letter of Intent. Additional details will be posted June 3rd, 2019.

Please use #DimensionsEDI when promoting the program on social media.
