Mitacs and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
Mitacs and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) have partnered to offer the Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE)-Globalink Research Internship (RISE-GRI), which offers undergraduate students at Canadian universities the opportunity to undertake research at eligible German institutions.
For More Information
The RISE-Globalink Research Internship is an exciting competitive initiative that allows for undergraduate students at Canadian universities to build an international research network and undertake research at eligible institutions in Germany. The internship offers students at Canadian universities in the fields of biology, chemistry, engineering, earth science, and physics the opportunity to participate in three-month research project supervised by a doctoral student at a German university or institution.
Open to full-time undergraduates in biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, or engineering (or a closely related field) who have completed at least two years of a four- or five-year program. This is a competitive opportunity — only top-ranked students are matched with projects. Faculty should encourage such students to apply.
Approved recipients receive $5,200 toward travel and accommodations.
Projects must start between May 15 and July 9, 2018.
If College-level review is required, your College will communicate its earlier internal deadlines.
How to Apply
Eligible students need to review the list of available projects in their discipline on the RISE Germany internship database. Students will then submit RISE-Globalink Research Internship applications through the RISE Germany application portal.
