Description

The New Frontiers in Research Fund, overseen by the Canadian Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC), is comprised of three streams to support groundbreaking research: Exploration, Transformation and International. The objective of this inaugural competition in the Exploration stream is to provide support for early career researchers (ECRs) to conduct high-risk, high-reward, and interdisciplinary research not available through traditional tri-council funding. It seeks to inspire highly innovative projects that defy current research paradigms, propose a unique scientific direction, bring disciplines together beyond the traditional disciplinary approaches, and/or use different perspectives to solve existing problems.

Webinars hosted through Adobe Connect have been scheduled to provide more information about the full application stage for this inaugural competition.

The full application can only be submitted by individuals who have successfully submitted their Notice of Intent (NOI) through the Convergence Portal by the deadline.

Submitted NOIs will be converted into full applications and will be available in the Convergence Portal to nominated principal investigators as of Thursday, January 17th. The ability for research administrators to forward applications to TIPS will be available in the Convergence Portal as of the end of January.
