Funding is open on a competitive basis. Lead applicants should be:
In Ontario: An R&D performing company incorporated in Ontario or a publicly-funded post-secondary institution (university, college or research hospital) accredited in Ontario. Post-secondary institutions are strongly encouraged to have contributing industry partners, and vice versa companies may have post-secondary institutions as contributing partners if applicable.
In Jiangsu: An R&D-performing Jiangsu-registered company operating in Jiangsu. Academic/research entities are eligible to participate in the project as sub-contractors only.
See How Funding Works for details about the grant amount and requirements.
Project terms must be between one and three years and are non-renewable.
If College-level review is required, your College will communicate its earlier internal deadlines.
An open call for the submission of Expression of Interest (EOI) to the program are being accepted from September 27, 2018 until November 13, 2018. Researchers are asked to submit a copy of their EOI to the Office of Research Services for information purposes only.
Note: Researchers invited to full proposal must submit with their applications a letter of intent (“LOI”) signed by all applicants and partners detailing intellectual property rights and commercialization strategy for the product or process. If the project is funded, a fully executed IP Sharing Agreement or Collaborative Research Agreement must be incorporated as Schedule D (Intellectual Property Term Sheet) in the OCE Funding Agreement to be executed by OCE and the Applicant. Applicants are strongly advised to begin negotiation of the terms of the IP Sharing Agreement immediately after submission of an EOI in order to meet the Application deadline. Please contact ORS for assistance in negotiating IP terms.

See How to Apply for full details about preparing an EOI and Full Application. To begin the EOI submission you will need to complete a client intake form so that an OCE Business Devleopment Manager (BD) will contact you and assist with developing the EOI.
